Singer-songwriter Jonah Yano has a secret to share...cigarettes make him nervous. Although the Japanese-Canadian's existing discography only consists of two singles, Yano has managed to find his niche in the realm of laid back R&B with his soulful voice. For his latest effort, Yano teamed up with fellow Canadians, BADBADNOTGOOD, to craft a smoky love ballad titled "nervous."

Because of his intimate lyricism, it's hard to believe that "nervous" is only the fifth song Yano has ever written. Yano credits musical genius Joni Mitchell as a notable inspiration for "nervous" as he spent a considerable amount of time analyzing her ability to transform everyday moments into the most evocative lyrics. "Nervous" showcases a pleasing fusion of jazz and blues alongside luscious vocals that is an impeccable formula for Yano's atmospheric soundscape.

On "nervous," Jonah Yano shared,

"This song is both a love song and a dream come true. The song is about the person in my life that means the most to me now and was made in collaboration with some of the most talented musicians I have the pleasure of knowing."
